About Us

      Purpose Statement

As a community of women
created in the image of God,
called to discipleship in Jesus Christ,
and
empowered by the Holy Spirit,
we commit ourselves to
grow in faith,
affirm our gifts,
support one another in our callings,
engage in ministry and action, and
promote healing and wholeness
in the church,
the society, and
the world.

What We Do

As we respond to the call to be disciples, we strive to be:

D  -isciplined and ready for a life time of work.

What we do – Our Spring Fellowship, held April 5 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Gastonia.  Our program – Women, the Heart of it All.  A wonderful opportunity to worship and fellowship with our sisters across the Southwestern District.

I  -nsightful and in tune with the Holy Spirit.

What we do – Our NC Synodical Gathering, to be held May 30-June 1 at Lenoir Rhyne College.

What is it???  Keynote address, Awareness Sessions, Healing Service, Bible Study, LR Children’s Choir, Stations of the Healthy Heart, Health Screening, Holy Communion Service.  Meet and fellowship with WELCA sisters from across the state.

S  -ent with power and authority to do the job.

What we do – The Mother-Daughter banquet.  To honor all the women of Trinity,  and their friends and family.  A fun evening for all.  This year’s date is Sunday, May 4.  See the details on this event on the Special Events page.

C  -ommitted to study the Word, and to prayer, always equipping ourselves for service.

What we do – Collecting Campbell’s soup labels (and other food products)  to benefit the programs and students at the Crossnore School in Crossnore, NC .    See their website to learn about all the ways this school ministers to their students.  See our bulletin board for a list of what to save.   http://www.crossnoreschool.org/

I  -nnovative and alive, finding new ways to “tell the story.”

What we do – Altar Care.  Every week, our members lovingly prepare the altar, pulpit, and lectern with the appropriate paraments for the season.  We prepare the communion elements for each celebration of the Lord’s Supper.    Altar care responsibilities for April – Circle 5, for May – Circle 1, for June – Circle 3.

P  -romised by the presence of Jesus actively participating in our work.

What we do – A birthday party at one of the local nursing centers.  This year we will be hosting a party at the Brian Center in June.  We provide  refreshments, entertainment, and gifts for the birthday recipients.  We receive enormous blessings from the residents – far beyond what we give.  The party this year will be the 1st Tuesday in June.  We and they would love for you to join us.

L  -ed by the Holy Spirit to be in the right place at the right time.

What we do – OH, SO MUCH MORE!!  Keep watching this page to see it all.  There is an opportunity for you to take part in any of these missions.  Speak to any circle member to learn how you can help.  Together we can be----

E  -xcited and stirred up at the possibilities for the Kingdom. Image
